Dan Zimmermann ( Norimberga, 30 ottobre 1966) è un batterista tedesco . Noto principalmente per la sua militanza nel gruppo power metal Gamma Ray ( 1997 / 2012 ), è stato anche cofondatore dei Freedom Call insieme a Chris Bay ( 1998 / 2010 ).

15 mag 2024 · Quest’anno i Freedom Call infatti raggiungono i 25 anni di carriera, tanti quanti ne sono passati da quando Chris Bay ed il suo amico Dan Zimmermann diedero il via a quest’avventura pubblicando Stairway to Fairyland nel 1999. L’argento citato nel titolo non fa riferimento però solo alle celebrazioni.

Il gruppo nasce nel 1998 ad opera degli amici Chris Bay e Dan Zimmermann durante un periodo di pausa della band principale di quest'ultimo, i Gamma Ray. I due producono un demo di sei canzoni insieme al noto produttore Charlie Bauerfeind, che mandò la registrazione a parecchie case discografiche.
12 feb 2010 · In un’intervista esclusiva che deve ancora essere pubbicata su Rockpages.gr, Daniel Zimmermann, batterista e membro fondatore dei FREEDOM CALL ha dichiarato di dover abbandonare la band in quanto non riusciva più a dividersi con i GAMMA RAY, a causa di impegni sovrapposti delle due band.
