On February 14, 2011, Skillet officially announced that longtime lead guitarist Ben Kasica would be leaving the band. Kasica was with the band for 10 years, contributing to the albums Alien Youth, Collide, Comatose, and Awake as well as the live album Comatose Comes Alive.
Benjamin Judah "Ben" Kasica (Born April 15, 1984) is the former lead guitarist for Skillet. He joined the band in 2001, when he was sixteen, and left in 2011. He began playing guitar at age eleven.

Alien Youth is the fourth studio album by American Christian rock band Skillet. Developing their sound into hard-hitting industrial rock, it was released August 28, 2001 through Ardent Records. [3] . This was the first Skillet album to include guitarist Ben Kasica, replacing Kevin Haaland.
This is the last album to feature guitarist Ben Kasica and the first studio release to feature drummer Jen Ledger. The singles "Awake and Alive", "Hero", and "Monster" are certified 2× Platinum, 3× Platinum, and 5× Platinum, respectively.
