Peter Ashworth (born 1953) is an English photographer. Ashworth initially specialized in music photography, between 1979 and 2000. In the 1980s, he worked with many UK artists including The Smiths, Depeche Mode, Eurythmics, Soft Cell, Jimmy Page and The Associates.
I studied at London College of Printing where the graphical element of images, the meaning of subtle gesture, the rules of perception and the science behind the art became my focus. I started taking studio shots, learning how to light, and organise a photo session.
Peter Ashworth. Ashworth photographed many famous and iconic stars of the 1980s, including Soft Cell, Eurythmics, Blancmange, The The, Frankie Goes to Hollywood, Adam Ant, Tina Turner, Julian Cope, The Clash amongst others for album sleeves and magazine covers.
