Paul Dudley White (June 6, 1886 – October 31, 1973) was an American physician and cardiologist. He was considered one of the leading cardiologists of his day, and a prominent advocate of preventive medicine.
Paul Dudley White (June 6, 1886 – October 31, 1973), graduated Harvard College and Harvard Medical School, and eventually rose to the position of Chief of the Cardiac Services at the Massachusetts General Hospital. He is widely regarded as the founder of preventive cardiology.
White was among the first to recognise the critical role of cardiac rehabilitation, now firmly established as a standard practice in patients after myocardial infarction. He also believed that having hope and a positive attitude toward life would maintain health and prevent illness.

Paul Dudley White became known to the American public when he was selected chief medical consultant to President Dwight D. Eisenhower in 1955, shortly after the President had suffered a myocardial infarction.
