Hu Jieqing (Chinese: 胡絜青; pinyin: Hú Jiéqīng; December 23, 1905 - May 21, 2001) was a contemporary Chinese painter who descended from the Manchu people. She was the wife of the Manchu writer Lao She, and Qi Baishi was her master. Biography. Hu, a native of Beijing, was born as Yuzhen (玉贞).

A portion of Lao She and his wife Hu Jieqing's collection found a new home at the National Art Museum of China in 2015, and 16 selective works from the collection, half of which were paintings by Qi Baishi, were auctioned at China Guardian Beijing on 10 May 2013.

20 mar 2019 · Lao She lived there with his wife, the artist Hu Jieqing, and their four children from 1950 to 1966. A black-and-white photo of the smiling author hangs next to his words. With this year marking the 120th anniversary of Lao She’s birth, a number of activities are being held.

9 feb 2015 · The exhibition is made up of three parts, featuring more than 200 works, which is a complete academic combing through of the collections of Lao She and Hu Jieqing. Lao She is a noted litterateur of China and the first writer to win the title of “Artists of People” of New China.
