James Brand Pinker (1863 – February 8, 1922) was a literary agent who represented James Joyce, Joseph Conrad, Henry James, Stephen Crane, H.G. Wells, D.H. Lawrence and many of the other leading British and American writers of the age.
The Jesus and Mary Chain are a Scottish alternative rock band formed in East Kilbride in 1983. The band revolves around the songwriting partnership of brothers Jim and William Reid, who are the two founders and only consistent members of the band since its formation.

With James Pinker (their programmer and live soundman) and bassist Scott Roger, DCD were again a quintet. And off they went. Their use of digital drums, a dark, dense sound and Gerrard's anguished vocal - and the 4AD connection - raised unwelcome comparisons to Cocteau Twins, but right from the off, they were heading elsewhere.
