Best known for her band, Luscious Jackson, Kate Schellenbach was also the drummer for the Beastie Boys when they were a hardcore punk outfit. Luscious Jackson, for those unfamiliar, combined elements of hip-hop, jazz, and rock to create a sound all their own, but they disbanded at the end of the 1990’s.
Kate Schellenbach (born on January 5, in New York City, New York) was a founding member and drummer for Beastie Boys from 1979 to 1984, and drummed for Luscious Jackson until the band broke up in the spring of 2000 and then again when they reformed in 2011.
