Christopher Louis Hakius (born December 14, 1971) [1] is an American retired rock drummer best known for his work in Om and Sleep. [2] Around 1990, Hakius was in Asbestosdeath along with Al Cisneros and Matt Pike. Asbestosdeath broke up and the three would form Sleep.

14 ott 2019 · Fronted by bassist Al Cisneros and balanced by dummer Chris Hakius and guitarist Matt Pike, Sleep’s first album was 1991’s Volume One, an album drenched in Doom Metal dread. While the album earned them a small, devoted cult following, they didn’t enjoy much attention outside of the Doom Metal scene.
The band's origins were established around 2003–04, when Al Cisneros of the band Om contacted Scott "Wino" Weinrich and proposed that they form a new collaborative three piece group with Om drummer Chris Hakius. Cisneros named the band, and it was intended that Wino would be the only vocalist.
16 ott 2018 · We played with Chris Hakius, the original Sleep drummer and drummer for Om. It ended up being a cool show and probably the most money the three of us ever got paid to do a show. We had a pretty good time doing it.
