Karl Philipp, Fürst zu Schwarzenberg (or Charles Philip, Prince of Schwarzenberg; 18/19 April 1771 – 15 October 1820) was an Austrian Generalissimo and former Field Marshal. He first entered military service in 1788 and fought against the Turks.
Karl Philipp Johann Nepomuk Joseph zu Schwarzenberg, auch Carl Philipp zu Schwarzenberg, war ein österreichischer Feldmarschall sowie Botschafter in Sankt Petersburg und Paris. Der Fürst von Schwarzenberg war der Oberbefehlshaber der verbündeten Streitkräfte gegen Napoleon in der Völkerschlacht bei Leipzig 1813.

Biography. Field marshal and diplomat. Son of Johann Nepomuk Anton von Schwarzenberg and Maria Eleonora zu Oettingen- Wallerstein. Victorious over the French in several engagements between 1794 and 1805. Ambassador in Russia until 1809, when the renewal of the war with France recalled him.
