The Gakushūin (学習 院), or Gakushuin School Corporation (学校法人学習院), historically known as the Peers' School, is a Japanese educational institution in Tokyo, originally established as Gakushūjo (学習所) to educate the children of Japan's nobility.
Primary School. Kindergarten. This is the official website of Gakushuin. As a private school that inherits history and tradition and provides integrated education, we aim to be a base that is suitable for representing Japanese culture and education.
Fu fondato, per volere dell' imperatore Ninkō, nel 1847 a Kyoto come centro di studi per i giovani della corte imperiale e delle famiglie imperiali. Nel 1877 venne trasferito a Tokyo, nel quartiere Toshima. Nel 1947 il Gakushūin divenne una istituzione privata. [1]

After the Meiji Restoration, in 1877 Gakushuin opened its doors in Tokyo for the education of the nobility. Not long after, it became a state school and was divided into Gakushuin for boys and the Peeresses’ School for girls.
