Pete Howard. Peter Howard is an English rock drummer. He was a member of the Clash from 1983 until 1986. Career. The Clash (1983–86) Howard joined the Clash in spring 1983. Drummer Topper Headon had been fired the previous year – shortly before the release of the album Combat Rock – owing to the effects of his heroin addiction on the band.

L'album non fu accolto con entusiasmo dalla critica e fu, anzi, considerato un flop. Oltre all'assenza di Mick Jones, si registra anche quella del batterista Topper Headon (uscito dalla band nel 1982 per problemi di eroina) e quindi della formazione classica dei Clash rimangono soltanto Joe Strummer e Paul Simonon. Le canzoni, però, sono state tutte prodotte dal nuovo insolito duo Bernard Rhodes/Strummer. Il disco non entrò nelle prime posizioni e registrò poche vendite, ma riuscì ciononostan...
