South of Delia is the seventh solo album by American folk singer-songwriter Richard Shindell. South of Delia is a cover album. Although he himself is sometimes described as a "songwriter's songwriter," covers are not new to Shindell.

Nella sua grazia di interprete sopraffino Shindell sfiora anche il blues e soprattutto non smarrisce quel filo narrativo, sottile e toccante, che è il denominatore comune del disco. Strano a dirsi per un album acustico tanto delicato, ma ciò che tiene insieme le tracce è la tensione pura che l’interprete riesce a creare.
