Élie Robert de Rothschild (29 May 1917 – 6 August 2007) was the guardian of the French branch of the Rothschild family banking dynasty. He followed his father as a partner in the family bank, de Rothschild Frères , and ran the Château Lafite-Rothschild premier cru claret vineyard from 1946 to 1974.

Marriage to Elie de Rothschild. Liliane married her childhood friend Elie de Rothschild (1917-2007) by proxy in 1942. With the outbreak of war, Elie and his brother Alain had gone to serve with their cavalry regiment, the Anciens 11èmes Cuirassiers. After German forces invaded France in May 1940 the brothers were captured near the Belgian frontier.
