Sir Salvador Enrique Moncada Seidner, FRS, FRCP, FMedSci (born 3 December 1944) is a Honduran-British pharmacologist and professor. He is currently Research Domain Director for Cancer at the University of Manchester.

Salvador Moncada is a pharmacologist and medical scientist with a wide range of research achievements across the areas of inflammation, vascular biology and cell growth. In the 1990s, he was the most cited British scientist and the second most cited scientist in the world.
28 set 2016 · Salvador Moncada, MD, obtained his PhD in the early 1970s at the Royal College of Surgeons in London, where he contributed to the discovery that aspirin-like drugs inhibit prostaglandin biosynthesis, thus accounting for their analgesic, anti-pyretic and anti-inflammatory actions.

He described the structure of prostacyclin, which acts as an effective vasodilator and also prevents blood platelets from clumping.
