Bernard Edwards (October 31, 1952 – April 18, 1996) was an American bass player and record producer, known primarily for his work in disco music with guitarist Nile Rodgers, with whom he co-founded Chic. In 2017, Edwards was selected as the 53rd greatest bassist of all time by Bass Player magazine.

Bernard Edwards ( Greenville, 31 ottobre 1952 – Tokyo, 18 aprile 1996) è stato un musicista, bassista e produttore discografico statunitense, attivo sia come membro degli Chic sia come solista.
Hugh's follow-up record “Road To Freedom” (MCA 1992) was produced by the late Bernard Edwards of Chic fame. This album, arranged by Hugh and featuring a more rootsy rock and soul band, garnered much critical success. Billboard Magazine called it one of 1992’s top-ten albums.
