Louis George Charles (German: Ludwig Georg Karl or Carl), Prince of Hesse-Darmstadt (27 March 1749, Darmstadt - 26 October 1823, Darmstadt) was a German field marshal in the service of the Upper Rhenish Circle.
George Charles (German: Georg Karl) of Hesse-Darmstadt (14 June 1754 - 28 January 1830, Schüttrisberg, now in Slovakia) was a German prince of the House of Hesse-Darmstadt. He was the fourth child and third son of Prince George William of Hesse-Darmstadt and his wife, Countess Maria Louise Albertine of Leiningen-Dagsburg-Falkenburg.

Louis George Charles (German: Ludwig Georg Karl or Carl), Prince of Hesse-Darmstadt (27 March 1749, Darmstadt - 26 October 1823, Darmstadt) was a German field marshal in the service of the Upper Rhenish Circle. He is also known in the primary and secondary sources as Prince Louis.
Ludwig Georg Karl of Hesse-Darmstadt was the son of Prince George William of Hesse-Darmstadt (1722–1782) and Countess Maria Louise Albertine of Leiningen-Dagsburg-Falkenburg (1729–1818).

Prince Charles of Hesse was born on 23 April 1809 in the city of Darmstadt, capital of the newly created Grand Duchy of Hesse, established as the successor state of the Landgraviate of Hesse-Darmstadt in 1806.

Description. Lepec's enamel is possibly after a photograph by F. Bachofen of Darmstadt taken in 1862 at the time of the Prince of Hesse's marriage to Princess Alice, and shows Prince Louis wearing Imperial Russian uniform with the ribbon of the Order of Louis of Hesse and the neck badge of the Order of Philip of Hesse.
Louis (Ludwig) 1937–1968 In 1968 the Line of Hesse-Darmstadt became extinct; the last Prince adopted the head of the Hesse-Kassel as his heir House of Battenberg 'Was a morganatic cadet branch of the Grand Ducal family of Hesse, without right of succession.
