Biografia. Nacque a Brighton, nel Sussex, terzo figlio di quattordici di James Hamilton, I duca di Abercorn e Lady Louisa Jane Russell, figlia di Sir John Russell, VI duca di Bedford . Servì come Mistress of the Robes della regina Vittoria dal 1885 al 1892 (conservatrice), e di nuovo dal 1895 al 1901.

Career. She was the mother of Louisa Montagu Douglas Scott, Duchess of Buccleuch, and therefore the paternal great grandmother of Princess Alice, Duchess of Gloucester, and the maternal 2nd great-grandmother of Prince William of Gloucester and Prince Richard, Duke of Gloucester.
Biografia. Louise, di origini anglo-francesi, era figlia di Federico appartenente al nobile ramo irlandese del casato degli Hamilton, e di Pilatte figlia di mercanti marsigliesi. Nasce sesta di sei figli a Nizza ma a due anni la famiglia si trasferisce a Firenze.
