The Essential Selection is a radio show on Friday evenings on BBC Radio 1, originally conceived by producer Eddie Gordon and hosted by Pete Tong. [1] History. "The Essential Mix programme was originally produced by Radio 1 producer Eddie Gordon, who held the post from 1993 to 2001.
Pete Tong is certainly a name in Dance Music that doesn’t need introduction. Pete plays a big role in bringing Dance Music to the public in the UK, and his Essential Selection both on Radio 1, and in this instance, the mix compilation, are both highly regarded in the dance industry.
