12 mag 2020 · Graduating, and prior to Romantics, years before in High School, Drummer Jimmy Marinos and I met & started playing together, in a new band a three piece, with a Guitar playing friend of a friend. Adopting a more serious effort with a lot of jamming, and us writing our own songs.
21 giu 2018 · Here is the biographical history of Thge Romantics: The Romantics' original lineup consisted of lead vocalist, rhythm guitarist, and harmonicist Wally Palmar, lead guitarist and vocalist Mike Skill, bassist and backing vocalist Rich Cole, and drummer and lead vocalist Jimmy Marinos.
The original members of The Romantics—Wally Palmar, Jimmy Marinos, Mike Skill and Rich Cole—formally became a band on Valentine’s Day, 1977. Bred on the mean streets of Detroit’s east side, they were inspired by the British punk invasion and their hometown rock scene.
Guitarist Mike Skill had been in two bands with drummer Jimmy Marinos in the early 1970s including one that had played CBGBs but broke up after the gig. Through a recording session with Sirius Trixon, Skill says met Wally Palmer around 1975. When Skill’s next band fizzled, he peeked in on a show Palmer was doing at Hamtramck High School.
