David Rintoul (born David Wilson; 29 November 1948) is a Scottish stage and television actor. Rintoul was born in Aberdeen, Scotland. He studied at the University of Edinburgh, and won a scholarship to study at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London.
David played Mr Darcy in the 1980 BBC Pride and Prejudice and the title role in four series of ITV’s Doctor Finlay. He was The Queen (Olivia Coleman)’s Private Secretary, Sir Michael Adeane, in Series 3 of The Crown (SAG Ensemble Award) and King Aerys II in Game of Thrones.
