The Course of Positive Philosophy (Cours de Philosophie Positive) was a series of texts written by the French philosopher of science and founding sociologist, Auguste Comte, between 1830 and 1842. Within the work he unveiled the epistemological perspective of positivism.

most severely criticized the “Positive Polity” of Auguste Comte, bear witness to the profound impulse given to modern thought by the publi-cation of the “Positive Philosophy,” more than half a century ago. Miss Martineau’s condensation appeared eleven years later, during the life-time of Comte and before the completion of his later works.
Comte first described the epistemological perspective of positivism in The Course in Positive Philosophy, a series of texts published between 1830 and 1842. These texts were followed by the 1848 work, A General View of Positivism (published in English in 1865).
