The school became the Godalming Grammar School and fees were no longer charged. The school now had in excess of 500 pupils and had outgrown the original accommodation. In 1954 land was purchased for new playing fields, new hard tennis courts were provided in 1955.
This group is for those of us that went to Godalming Grammar, or County Grammar School Godalming - whichever title you prefer. Old Godhelmians sounds a bit pretentious these days. Please respect that you needed to have attended or worked there to qualify, however amusing we might be to join.
