Edmund Tudor, Duke of Somerset (21 February 1499 – 19 June 1500) was an English prince, and the sixth child of King Henry VII of England and his wife, Elizabeth of York. He was styled from birth Duke of Somerset, but never formally created a peer.
Edmund Beaufort, 2nd Duke of Somerset, 4th Earl of Somerset, 1st Earl of Dorset, 1st Marquess of Dorset styled 1st Count of Mortain, KG (1406 – 22 May 1455), was an English nobleman and an important figure during the Hundred Years' War.
In March 1453, Edmund and Jasper were given joint custody of Margaret Beaufort, heiress of the Duke of Somerset. Edmund later married Margaret in 1455, when she was 12 years old, and fathered the future Henry VII, although Edmund died before his son was born.

15 mar 2016 · We all know of King Henry VIII and his six wives and how Elizabeth I had no children causing the Tudor monarchs to die with her. But it’s also true of Henry’s parents. Elizabeth of York was a very fertile queen but many of her children died young. Such was the case of young Edmund, Duke of Somerset.
1 nov 2015 · She was just twenty years of age when her husband Henry V died on the 31st August 1422 at the Chateau de Vincennes, near Paris, while in Europe campaigning. It was reported that Edmund Beaufort, Duke of Somerset, sought to marry the Dowager Queen and it may very well have been that Katherine returned these feelings.
