Valient Thorr is an American southern rock/heavy metal band from Greenville, North Carolina. The name of the band is based on the urban legend of Valiant Thor , an Alien which came from Venus to Earth.

Valient Thorr commence en 2001, réalisant deux démos Raw et We Come from the Morning Star. Leur premier album auto-produit sort en 2003. Il ne se vend qu'à 1 000 exemplaires uniquement disponibles lors des concerts du groupe.
Sostituito il batterista Donn Thorr con Lucian Thorr, firmarono un contratto discografico con la Volcom Entertainment, con cui pubblicarono nel 2005 Total Universe Man. Durante il tour che seguì questo rilascio, Jjinn Thorr lasciò il gruppo e fu sostituito da Bjorn Thorr.
