Spirit of St. Louis is the second studio album by American singer and actress Ellen Foley, released in March 1981. Foley is backed by the Clash on all songs. The album was recorded right after the Clash's Sandinista! with the same musicians and engineers.

14 set 2020 · Foley had been the steamy and sexy singer on the Meat Loaf hit Paradise by the Dashboard Light. There was every reason to think the stars would align for her with Spirit of St Louis. But, much like the Clash's Sandinista! released the previous year, the album is all over the place.

Pretty much anyone who has ever heard Ellen Foley sing would agree that she has a fabulous voice. That gorgeous sound is heard to full, devastating effect on Disc One of this set: Nightout. Great rock ballads and some lighter-touch tracks to balance out the programme.
