Uli Jon Roth (born Ulrich Roth; 18 December 1954) is a German guitarist who became famous for his work with the hard rock band Scorpions and is one of the earliest contributors to the neoclassical metal genre. He is also the founder of Sky Academy and designer of the Sky Guitar.
These included "Transcendendental Sky Guitar", (where it played the role of the Phoenix), "Metamorphosis" and "Under a Dark Sky". Although not a touring guitar any longer, Mighty Wing is still in great shape and the pick-up system has recently been upgraded to the latest MEGA WING version.
