Dead Ringer is the second studio album by American rock singer Meat Loaf, released on September 4, 1981. It is the second of four albums written entirely by Jim Steinman. The album cover was designed by comic book artist and horror illustrator Bernie Wrightson.

Dead Ringer è un album del cantante Meat Loaf del 1981, uno dei tre album di Meat Loaf interamente scritto da Jim Steinman. Jim Steinman iniziò a lavorare a Bad for Good nel 1978 subito dopo la pubblicazione di Bat Out of Hell, per creare il secondo album per Meat Loaf.
Dead Ringer è un album molto valido, con qualche passaggio meno convincente, ma anche con alcune canzoni di squisita fattura che non mancheranno di solleticare finanche i palati più esigenti.

Oltre a pubblicare diversi dischi da solista, fu il più ricercato pianista session man della musica rock negli anni sessanta e settanta, avendo collaborato con numerosi gruppi musicali di quel periodo.
