I Bastro sono stati un gruppo post hardcore punk statunitense attivo tra il 1988 ed il 1993. Il gruppo ha pubblicato un EP, due album per la Homestead Records ed un live postumo, prima di mutare nome in Gastr del Sol, gruppo dallo stile più vicino alla sperimentazione ed alla musica concreta.

Bastro was an American post-hardcore band which was active in the late 1980s and early 1990s. The band's main line-up consisted of David Grubbs on guitar, Clark Johnson on bass guitar, and John McEntire on drums.
Bastro was post-punk band formed by guitarist/vocalist David Grubbs in 1987 while he was attending college at Georgetown University in Washington, DC.
