Susan Mailer (born August 28, 1949) is an American psychoanalyst, writer, and academic who has lived in Chile since the 1980s. Mailer is the firstborn child of American writer Norman Mailer and his first wife, Beatrice Silverman.

Susan Mailer is Norman Mailer’s first born. After her parents divorced, when she was nearly two years old, her mother moved to Mexico. As a result, Susan grew up in both countries, between New York and Mexico City, bicultural and bilingual.
Susan Mailer, a psychoanalyst, is co-founder of the Psychoanalytic Association of Santiago where she is also a faculty member. She has a private practice and supervises in Santiago, Chile. Her memoir In Another Place, with and without My Father Norman Mailer, was published in 2019, and the Spanish translation will be published in November 2022.
In Another Place tells the story of her intense and complex relationship with her father, her five stepmothers and nine siblings, and the joys and pains of being part of the large Mailer clan. It is a tale of separation, and of the rewards and struggles of living in two very different cultures.
