Website. haileybury .com. Haileybury and Imperial Service College is an English co-educational independent boarding and day school for 11- to 18-year-olds near Hertford in England. It is a member of the Rugby Group and enrols pupils at the 11+, 13+ and 16+ stages of education.
The East India Company was nationalised and the college closed in 1858, becoming a public school with continuing ties to the former college. The college buildings survive and are now occupied by the public school's successor, Haileybury and Imperial Service College, a private school.
The school became known as Haileybury and Imperial Service College. In WW1 and WW2, over 800 former pupils of Haileybury, the ISC and the USC died in the service of their country. Details can be found on our Roll of Honour here. Haileybury today. Since 1942, Haileybury has progressed to be a leading and inclusive school.
He noted that the Imperial Service College had been founded “for the purpose of providing a public school education for the Sons of Officers of limited means belonging to the Navy, Army, and Higher Civil Services.” In 1942, the school merged with Haileybury to form Haileybury and Imperial Service College.
