Hillel Day School, named after the Jewish religious leader, sage and scholar Hillel, is an independent Pre-K – 8 Jewish day school in Farmington Hills, Michigan, a city in the Detroit metropolitan area. Founded in 1958, it became the first non-Orthodox Jewish school in Michigan.
Children come first at Hillel and we understand that no two people, or brains, are alike. Our variety of learning approaches, including lessons learned in class and on the field, nurture each child’s emotional growth and encourage risks and failure in order to grow and gain confidence.

Hillel Leadership. Ohio State’s first Hillel director (1925–34), was Rabbi Lee Levinger, who received his bachelor’s degree in Chicago, master’s at Hebrew Union College in Cincinnati, and a PhD from the University of Pennsylvania.
OSU Hillel, rooted in Buckeye traditions since 1926, is one of the finest Hillels in the country. Hundreds of students are involved everyday through its wide mix of formal programs, exciting campus wide events, personalized interactions, and informal coffees.
