2020 wurde Giese für seine Nebenrolle als Raphael in İlker Çataks Spielfilm Es gilt das gesprochene Wort (2019) für den Deutschen Filmpreis nominiert. Für seine Darstellung in Unschuldig wurde er mit dem Hessischen Fernsehpreis 2020 als bester Schauspieler ausgezeichnet.
Giese attended Sankt-Ansgar-Schule in Hamburg in his childhood. He studied at Berlin University of the Arts from 1997 to 2000. From 2001 to 2003 he worked as an actor at a theatre in Hildesheim. Biography. Godehard Giese, born in 1972, graduated from Hochschule der Künste Berlin (now: Universität der Künste Berlin) with a degree in acting in 2001 after four years of studying. From 2001 to 2003, he then was engaged at the Stadttheater Hildesheim, before he became a freelance actor and focused on a career in film and television.
