Kumeko Urabe (Japanese: 浦辺粂子), born Kimura Kume ((木村 くめ)), (October 5, 1902 – October 26, 1989) was a Japanese movie actress, one of the first in the country. She worked on stage and in film and television.
Kumeko Urabe (1902-1989) was one of the first and most prolific actresses in Japan, appearing in over 320 films and several TV dramas. She worked with renowned directors such as Kenji Mizoguchi and Mikio Naruse, and played diverse roles from young to old, tragic to comic.
Kumeko Urabe was born on 5 October 1902 in Shimoda, Shizuoka, Japan. She was an actress, known for Ikiru (1952), Nippon no obaachan (1962) and Oka wa hanazakari (1952). She died on 26 October 1989.
