Biografia. Nasce nel 1959 da padre industriale e madre giornalista di moda che vivono nelle vicinanze della capitale Parigi. In gioventù svolge diversi lavori, prima in ambito giornalistico, in seguito come regista teatrale degli spettacoli di Coluche, ed infine come aiuto costumista di Alain Resnais.
