Highlights. Mogilny is perhaps best known for being the first Russian to defect from the Soviet Union and join the NHL. He also holds the record for goals in a season by a Russian, scoring 76 in 1993. The 6x All-Star retired in 2006 with 473 goals and 1,032 points in 990 games and ranks 4th all-time in scoring among Russian players.
