The second time gave him his eighth USA championship as he inches closer to the 300-foot mark at 91.29m/299-6, and it was the farthest throw in the world in 2007, which marked the first time an American ended a season with the world leading mark in the javelin since Tom Petranoff in 1983.
Breaux Greer was the top American javelin thrower in the late 1990s and early 2000s, competing at the 2000, 2004, and 2008 Olympic Games. He attended college at the University of Louisiana at Monroe.
