Alistair Murdoch McCoist, MBE ( / məˈkɔɪst /; born 24 September 1962) is a Scottish former footballer who has since worked as a manager and TV pundit. McCoist began his playing career with Scottish club St Johnstone, before moving to English side Sunderland in 1981.

Ally McCoist was a prolific marksman for club and country, scoring 405 goals in a footballing career that propelled him to fame as a TV personality, manager and pundit. Born in Bellshill, Lanarkshire, Ally started his professional career at St Johnstone where his talent was quickly evident as he scored 22 goals during his two years in Perth.
A brilliant penalty box striker Ally McCoist was twice winner of the European Golden Boot and is Rangers’ all time top goal scorer with 355 goals from 581 games. With Rangers McCoist won eight League Championship titles, nine Scottish League Cups and one Scottish Cup.
