Ernst Heinkel è stato un ingegnere aeronautico e costruttore di aeroplani tedesco. La sua compagnia, l'Heinkel Flugzeugwerke, progettò e costruì l'Heinkel He 178, il primo aereo mosso da un motore turbogetto e l'Heinkel He 176, il primo aereo con motore a razzo. His company Heinkel Flugzeugwerke produced the Heinkel He 178, the world's first turbojet-powered aircraft, and the Heinkel He 176, the first rocket aircraft.
