Criss Cross (1949) is a classic period film noir, with a heist gone wrong, and a lonesome hero returning to Bunker Hill to find love and certain doom.
An armored truck driver and his ex-wife conspire with a gang to have his own truck robbed on the route. After being away for a few years, working class Steve Thompson returns to his hometown of Los Angeles to move back into the family home with his parents and younger brother.
Considered one of the best of the film noirs to come out of Hollywood in the post-war years, Criss Cross (1949) tells the story of an honest armored-car guard whose involvement with his scheming ex-wife, now married to a sleazy gangster, lands him in the middle of a tangled and disastrous robbery.
