River of Souls is set six months after the penultimate episode of the series, and delves into the spiritual and mystical aspect of the Babylon 5 mythology. Soul Hunters are long-lived aliens who collect and preserve the souls of the dead, drawn to the sites of battles or major tragedies.
Captain Lochley now has solid proof that Garibaldi is a disaster magnet: when he comes to the station to meet with one of his new company’s subordinates, she’s being sued by the owner of an illegal virtual reality “holo-brothel” and besieged by Soul Hunters.
