Rocky Road to Dublin is a 1968 documentary film by Irish-born journalist Peter Lennon and French cinematographer Raoul Coutard (long-time collaborator of Jean-Luc Godard), examining the contemporary state of the Republic of Ireland, posing the question, “what do you do with your revolution once you’ve got it?”.
Directed by Paul Duane and produced by Sé Merry Doyle (Loopline Films) the film unearths some remarkable, previously unseen footage of Lennon confronting Godard and Truffaut at Cannes in 1968 while workers and students demonstrate around the Sorbonne at the peak of their revolutionary fervour.
