Harold Lloyd's Funny Side of Life is a compilation film put together by Lloyd to reintroduce himself to modern audiences. In the 1960s, Lloyd's films were finally starting to be shown again. This film was created as an introduction before a screening of The Freshman.

In the early 1960s, Lloyd produced two compilation films, Harold Lloyd's World of Comedy and The Funny Side of Life, featuring scenes from his old comedies. The first film premiered at the 1962 Cannes Film Festival , where Lloyd was fêted as a major rediscovery. [39]
This wonderfully funny look at a determined young fellow's drive to succeed on his college football team is still touchingly poignant. The inclusion of the song There Was a Boy, There Was A Girl' by Ned Washington & Walter Scharf lends a gentle, evocative touch to the movie.
