Die Nibelungen ist ein zweiteiliger deutscher Spielfilm mit dem ersten Teil Siegfried von Xanten ( 1966) und dem zweiten Teil Kriemhilds Rache ( 1967 ). Die Verfilmung schildert das Nibelungenlied als romantisches Liebesdrama.
Die Nibelungen is a 1966/1967 West German fantasy film released in two parts, Siegfried von Xanten and Kriemhilds Rache (Kriemhild's Revenge). It was directed by Harald Reinl and produced by Artur Brauner. Die Nibelungen starred Uwe Beyer, Karin Dor and Herbert Lom.

Der Ring des Nibelungen (The Ring of the Nibelung), WWV 86, is a cycle of four German-language epic music dramas composed by Richard Wagner. The works are based loosely on characters from Germanic heroic legend, namely Norse legendary sagas and the Nibelungenlied.
Siegfried von Xanten wrests the legendary treasure of the Nibelungs from the king of the underworld and defeats the dragon Fafnir, bathing in its blood to become invulnerable. However, he then falls in love with the sister of King Gunther of Burgund, leading to frictions between them at the court.
