3 ott 2018 · The Tsui Hark-produced A Chinese Ghost Story (1987) was an enormous hit in Hong Kong. Its unique blend of traditional Eastern beliefs, martial arts and supernatural fantasy caught on in a big way and had a great deal of influence over the Hong Kong fantasy genre in the decade ahead.
Charming animated remake/retelling of A Chinese Ghost Story, that in some ways rivals the original classic. There are a number of sequences and designs that seem to have heavily informed Hayao Miyazaki's Spirited Away. Tsui Hark's rampant imagination is on full display here.
