This Joint Is Jumpin’ celebrates the life and work of the great Fats Waller. Fats started playing church organ at age 10 and his all-action musical career ended, full speed ahead, at the age of 39. This documentary features his son, Maurice, and Eddie Barefield and Marshal Royal, fellow musicians.
Waller filmed four songs: "Ain't Misbehavin '", "Honeysuckle Rose", "Your Feet's Too Big", and "The Joint Is Jumpin '". The films originally played in coin-operated movie jukeboxes, and were later reprinted for home movies, television, and video.
"This Joint Is Jumpin'" takes you back to a time when zoot suit-clad hepcats hit the dance floor with dolls in full-skirted dresses and seamed stockings. All troubles were forgotten to the hip sounds of Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Benny Goodman and Glenn Miller.
