Bouboulina (Greek: Μπουμπουλίνα) is a 1959 Greek drama film directed and written by Kostas Andritsos and starring Irene Papas as Laskarina Bouboulina, Koula Agagiotou, Andreas Barkoulis and Dionysis Papagiannopoulos. The film features the heroine of the Greek Revolutionary of 1821 Laskarina Bouboulina .

A documentary film based on a fictionalized account of her life and deeds, The Brave Stepped Back: The Life and Times of Laskarina Bouboulina, was released in 2005, debuting at the Armata Festival in Spetses.
The paper will focus on Bouboulina, a film that tells the celebrated story of a female naval commander during the Greek national revolution against the Ottoman Empire. It stars Irene Papas, who had only recently returned to Greece after working for seven years in Italy and in Hollywood, and who was largely unknown then in Greece.
