Mooned is a short film that was theatrically released together with Migration. It features the Minions and Vector as they attempt to leave the moon. The short film is chronologically set after the events of the first film.
The short begins with a recap of the events of the first film, with the MSNBC's anchorman telling about Vector being lifted to space by the Moon and a minion who drank the anti-gravity serum.
While on the moon, Vector starts to panic, but soon realizes that he can get out of there by jumping high. He then sees Bob (the floating minion), who makes them go back to the moon sole.
After many attempts, like a floating balloon suit, and a slingshot, Vector comes up with an idea to which he will use his backside rockets to the space satellite. At that moment, Isaac, Ralph and Elijah come with Gru's airship to pick up Bob. The four then try to call Vector, but he ignores them. Vector then activates his rocket satellite causing a huge collision with the airship.
Vector wakes up, recovering from the collision, only to realize that he is not on Earth, but Mars. Suddenly, a green Martian appears and says something to Vector, but he couldn’t understand what he was saying. The alien becomes friends with the minions (who were also unharmed from the crash, due to being indestructible) and decides to give them a ride back to Earth. They fly off, leaving the unlucky Vector behind. Disappointed, Vector says again "Oh, poop," just like he did in the beginning.
