Virtual Obsession is a 1998 science fiction television film directed by Mick Garris and starring Peter Gallagher and Mimi Rogers. It is based on the 1993 novel Host by Peter James.
A terminally-ill computer tech downloads her brain and personality to her boss's super-computer, which controls power for an entire city, thereby giving her eternal life. She also has a murderous obsession with the scientist who invented it.
A computer analyst hires a girl who clearly likes him but also has two months to live. She downloads herself into his computer before she dies so she can fuck with the guys wife's household appliances. Maybe not a 90s thriller so-bad-its-good classic, but for a 2 hour plus movie, it's pretty easy to watch with a few .
