The museum has a wheelchair access for the disabled with lifts to upper floor, but while it is located in the old and complex buildings, you should inquire at the reception how to get around. Small parts of the exhibit are not accessible for the disabled. You may photograph in the museum under condition of not using a tripod.
You may enter the museum from the courtyard through the door accessible from three streets: Amsterdam central commercial street Kalverstraat 92 and two small side streets: St.Luciensteeg 27 and tiny cul-de-sac leading to the Civic Guards Gallery, called Gedempte Begijnensloot.
Walking: 5 minutes from the Dam square. Public transport: tram lines 1, 2, 5 (stop Spui); lines 4, 9, 14, 16, 24 and 25 (stop Rokin). By car:this is an area off limits for the car owners. If you persist, park your car at De Kolk Car Park, Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal 67 and walk along the same street for 10 minutes to the museum.
