Arthur W. Hodes (Ukrainian: Артур Гоудс; November 14, 1904 – March 4, 1993), was a Russian Empire-born American jazz and blues pianist. He is regarded by many critics as the greatest white blues pianist.

Jazz music community with review and forums. Arthur W. Hodes (November 14, 1904 in Ukraine; died March 4, 1993 in Harvey, Illinois) is an American jazz pianist born in Ukraine. His family settled in Chicago, Illinois when he was a few months old.
Art Hodes recorded frequently during the 1970s and ’80s, and was widely recognized as one of the last survivors of Chicago jazz. His later recordings were for such labels as Audiophile, Jazzology, Delmark, Storyville, Euphonic, Muse, Parkwood, Candid, and Music & Arts. ~ Scott Yanow.
